About Bobby Lanier

A Mid-South native who has devoted his life to public service, Lanier served as Executive Assistant to three Shelby County mayors after retiring from a 28-year career with MLG&W.

He was one of the founders of The Bank of Germantown, a director at Neshoba Bank and currently serves as Advisor Director of Trustmark National Bank.

Lanier is a member of Germantown Presbyterian Church and is involved with a variety of charities and civic organizations in the area. He is past president and director of the Germantown Charity Horse Show and currently serves as its Executive Director.

He is a member of the Germantown Festival Association’s advisory board and has been a past president of the Mid-South Fair. He served as president of the Germantown Civic Club, Germantown Junior Chamber of Commerce, the Poplar Pike Improvement Association and is a charter member of the Germantown Kiwanis Club.

He was voted Germantown Man of the Year in 1963, 1976, 2005 and 2007 and was instrumental in the formation and continuing growth of the Bobby Lanier Farm Park in Germantown.
